Safety comes first at Delta Gas, Inc. Our propane safety checks help identify potential leaks, equipment concerns, and other issues that could affect the safe operation of your propane system. Our experienced team will inspect your system and let you know if any problems are found that should be addressed.

A Closer Look:
GAS Check® (Gas Appliance System Check) is an award winning preventative maintenance program designed as an important customer safety tool. The National Propane Gas Association and the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association developed GAS Check as a regular check up for your home propane system and gas appliances. 

Delta Gas, Inc.'s certified service technicians receive advanced training at industry sponsored service schools. This standardized training allows our technicians to conduct certified GAS Checks. During a GAS Check, our service technician will inspect your gas system to insure it is operating properly and safely. The results of the comprehensive inspection will verify that your system is free from leaks. If we uncover any problems or have recommendations, we will present them to you.

Before our technicians finish the GAS Check, they will teach you how to operate your gas appliances, to recognize odor of propane and emergency procedures to take in case of a fire or leak. You can relax knowing we are totally committed to your safety and peace of mind.

One question we always feel is important to answer before it is asked is “What do I do if I smell propane?” At Delta Gas, Inc., it is our belief that there is no such thing as a small leak. When you smell propane, we ask that you immediately follow the steps below:

1. NO FLAMES OR SPARKS. Put out all smoking materials and other open flames. Do not operate lights, appliances, telephones, or cell phones. Flames or sparks from these sources can trigger an explosion or a fire.

2. LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY. Get everyone out of the building or area where you suspect gas is leaking.

3. SHUT OFF THE GAS. Turn off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank if it is safe to do so. To close the valve, turn it to the right (clockwise).

4. REPORT THE LEAK. From a neighbor’s home or other nearby building away from the gas leak, call Delta Gas, Inc.  right away. If you can’t reach us, call 911 or your local fire department. DO NOT RETURN TO THE BUILDING OR AREA until one of our service technicians or an emergency responder determines that it is safe to do so.

5. GET YOUR SYSTEM CHECKED. Before you attempt to use any of your propane appliances, one of our technicians must check your entire system to ensure that it is leak-free.
